Automated Toy Store Window

My Rigging and Stage Mechanics class was tasked with designing and manufacturing an automated window display for the K.C. Bonkers Toy Store and Coffee Shop in Hancock, Mi for the 2018-2019 Holiday Season. I personally worked on the design of a sky diving aviator that moved up and down while his arms and legs moved.

Initially my concept for the piece was to mimic a classic wooden marionette, placing the character inside of a small theater, however the final concept ended up being a sky diving aviator with the same mechanism. I did the design for the character as well as the mechanism and built a majority of the final figure although I did not paint it.

The colorful wheel was designed and built by Aaron Chrstianson and Michael Chopp. Zep Elkerton helped with the construction of the puppet as well as did the electrical work for the window. Kassandra Baril did the painting of both the puppet and the wheel.
