LODE Theatre 1:24 Scale Model
This model was built during my 8th semester of college (Spring 2019) for a project in my Scenic Design Class. The prompt for the project was to create a 1:24 Scale model of a building facade near Michigan Tech’s Campus as it appeared in some time in history. I chose the LODE Theatre located in downtown Houghton, Mi as it appeared in 1952. The theater was built in 1941 and remained an operating theater until December of 2010.
I modeled the building in Autodesk Inventor and created the necessary 3D printable files, and reference drawings. The model is made mostly out of foam core board with many 3D printed components including the marquee, windows and doors. The model measures 25”x10 1/4”x10”.
